Video & Audio Editing Software
The purpose of this page is to show different software packages that can be used in the creation of your videos. I have shown only the products that are currently available to Swinburne staff & students and that are currently supported by either IT, the Adobe Hub or the Learning Transformations Unit. The page has been divided into four main sections (you can click on the title of each section below to jump to that section on the page):
1. Software for video recording/editing shows some packages which can be used for recording and editing video footage recorded using a video capture device (camcorder, webcam, mobile phone, tablet, etc). These packages often allow the addition of visual and sound effects and can help produce a more polished final video.
2. Software for screen recording/editing shows some packages which allow you to record the actions made on your computer screen. These packages are very useful for creating 'how to' videos where you are demonstrating software. Many of these packages will also allow you to record and edit video via a webcam and can be used as basic video editing tools.
3. Software for video file conversion shows some packages which can be used to convert video files from one format to another. This is very useful, especially where the tool you use for your video creation may not output your final video in the format you need.
4. Software for audio editing shows some packages that can be used to edit & manipulate audio. These packages can be used to create audio podcasts, audio for video productions, create music tracks and clean up problematic audio files,. They can also be used to convert audio files from one format to another.
I also have added a Non Supported Tools section at the bottom for some extra software that might be useful but is not supported by Swinburne.
